A professional, full-time writer and photographer since 1977. Author of many books and a widely experienced magazine and book editor. 
Connected (St George Books) tells stories of association and belief, in essays and short stories.
Other County (Allen and Unwin), the story of two brothers, is set in the Top End of Australia and has been described as “raw, forceful and intensely masculine … a wholly new, striking and original voice in Australian fiction.”
“Travel Etcetera: The World on Another Plane” is an interpretive global literary journey. 
Photographic book “Western Australia: An Untamed View” contained images and text gathered over more than half a million kilometres of travel in mostly remote regions.
Spoken word fiction, The Lighthouse Keepers, was aired on Australian radio.
Work of fiction, Seeing the Country, was serialised in 2003 in a major morning newspaper in Australia.
Photography has been included in books and high quality international calendar ranges. 
Recipient of an international United Nations Peace Award for publishing work. 
Currently Travel Editor of The West Australian, writing and photographing internationally, on countries and cultures. Winner of 2003 MEAA AJA Travel Report Prize for an article which gave a special insight into South African townships.
Participant in the writers’ festivals and experienced public speaker and interviewer, particularly on writing about landscape, cultures and photography. 
His books have been approved by the English Teachers Association and accepted by the Education Department as part of curriculum. 
Occasional lecturer on writing and photography, and guest author at young writers’ camps. 
Twice a judge of Australia’s TAG Hungerford Award for Fiction. 
Published poet, in anthologies. 
Travelled extensively throughout Australia and developed a deep understanding of the continent’s human and geographic landscape. He has an acute understanding of Aboriginal culture.
